The Shovel Squad started on a January morning when a friend who owns a plow company called at 5 a.m. — his lots were spotless, but every property manager on his phone wanted to know why the front steps were still buried.
Plow rigs can't do sidewalks. And most plow crews don't want to. But the sidewalks are what people actually walk on — and where slip-and-fall claims come from. So we built a company that does nothing but walkways, stairs, and ice management, working hand in hand with the plow operators already on site.
Today we're the sidewalk arm for a growing roster of Southern Maine plow companies, plus a curated list of homeowners who want their family, guests, and dog on solid footing all winter.
